Hawthorn Montessori is a Montessori Micro-School for children ages 2.5 to 6 years old.
We serve families in Western North Carolina, conveniently located in Candler, NC.
Our bright, peaceful classrooms and caring teacher leaders create a supportive community for families and a nurturing experience for children as they transition into the world of learning.
We believe that all children should have access to the world of Montessori learning and offer a range of tuition options to meet the needs of our families.

Method
Hawthorn Montessori follows the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori.
The Montessori Method emerges from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction.
With appropriate freedoms and the right support, children follow their interests to create rich learning experiences, form peaceful communities, and support and learn from one another.
We are dedicated to the preparation of environments and ourselves to support the development of children.
As an intentionally-small school, community embedded learning environment, our school allows us to serve families in deeper and meaningful ways.
Our Teacher Leaders are community members, working in partnership with families to create a comforting and nurturing space for children as if it were their own home.
